A survey by CERC (Centro de Estudios de la Realidad Contemporánea) shows that 55 percent of voters in Chile want former President Michelle Bachelet to run again for president.
SANTIAGO — Although she has not officially declared that she is running, Michelle Bachelet has received the best figures of civic endorsement, surpassing both Minister Laurence Golborne and Minister Andrés Allamand.
The UN representative maintains a significant lead, one which the director of CERC Carlo Hueenos calls the “earthquake Bachalista”.
When ranked against all 11 possible candidates, including independents, her approval rating shoots to 57 percent. In a closed poll between Bachelet, Golborne, and Allamand, she recieved 40 percent of the vote.
If she officially declares her candidacy, Bachelet would run under the Socialist Party of Chile.
